World Access to Higher Education Day – Planning and Development Workshop
The purpose of this workshop is to bring together all organisations and individuals who wish to be part of the development and delivery of the first World Access to Higher Education Day (WAHED) scheduled for Autumn 2018. Any delegate who is interested in being part of World Access to Higher Education Day is welcome to attend the session.

This workshop, delivered in partnership with the British Council, builds on the 23 May 2017 Going Global session about World Access to Higher Education Day.

If economies of all stages of development are to prosper and weave stronger civil society bonds higher education needs to reach people who are excluded. Extending access is fundamental to combatting global inequality within and between nations; and is key to the legitimacy of Higher Education itself in an era of rising global populism.

How can access be widened though, when the evidence shows inequalities in participation and success in every country of the world where data is available?

The scale of this global challenge merits advocacy and action on a global level. World Access to Higher Education Day will mobilise diverse actors to deliver a tangible impact on participation and success by those presently under-represented in Higher Education.

World Access to Higher Education Day can provide a platform to celebrate success stories from around the world and advocate for under-represented groups.

This workshop presents an opportunity to shape one of the most important events in international Higher Education in 2018.
