About People Matter 2017

This conference was for anyone interested in addressing workforce supply challenges in health and care and how widening access to education and employment opportunities and increasing the talent pool will enable a more diverse and inclusive workforce for the future.


Delegates at People Matter 2017 enjoyed engaging speakers, took part in stimulating breakout sessions, heard from exhibitors and interacted with a panel discussion. People Matter 2017 provided delegates with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of widening participation, retention, diversity and progression in healthcare while providing a much needed space to share experiences with delegates from across the country.

Health Education England’s National Widening Participation Awards

Health Education England’s National Widening Participation Awards recognised the achievements in the health sector of outstanding widening participation partnerships, research and initiatives. They also celebrated the success of individuals from diverse backgrounds who go over and above to support this agenda across the health sector.

At People Matter 2017, we showcased examples of best practice for widening participation to health and care from across the country. During the conference, we hosted a series of exhibition stands to facilitate this knowledge exchange and to raise the profile of some truly great work.
