What to expect

This one day course will look at IAG theory and practice, and relate this to skills for WP Practitioners. By the end of the day delegates will:

  • Understand and be able to apply IAG theories to their own work
  • Consider the skills and techniques for successful one-to-one guidance
  • Look at different approaches to group work sessions and consider the benefits and challenges of each approach
  • Understand the changes to the curriculum
  • Improve their own knowledge around all the routes available to learners to access higher education

This training is designed to give delegates the chance to develop both their knowledge and skills needed as a WP practitioner as well as provide a comfortable space to discuss the latest issues with colleagues from other organisations.

 

Who should apply?

NEON’s Access Academy Training sessions are designed to be applicable to practitioners, academics and researchers from HEIs, FECs, NCOPs and third sector organisations.

Presenter

Andy Gardner, Independent Consultant.
Andy is the Operations Manager at Central Careers Hub and has been an independent careers and higher education adviser for seventeen years. He is a published author and experienced speaker, lecturer and commentator in his field. Andy was the Moderator of the Institute of Career Guidance HE Advisers’ Community and has both helped to develop, and lectured on the unique Advisers Certificate: Applying to HE at London South Bank University.
