  • Location/Venue

      Central London

  • Time

      9:30 am - 4:00 pm

This two-part course is intended for practitioners who are relatively new to access and outreach work and who would welcome the opportunity to reflect systematically on their practice and enhance their skills. It will consist of two hands-on sessions to explore the core skills for successful access and outreach work. Participants will be able to use the course to refresh and re-invigorate their outreach plans.

Session 2, on 27 April 2017, will focus on best practice for successful widening access initiatives. Steve Kendall and Martin Webster (NEON) will deliver the session, bringing with them decades of widening access experience and knowledge.

By the end of the session participants will:

  • Understand the process involved in planning and delivering a project;
  • Looked at various ways in which to target widening access initiatives;
  • Considered different models of school and college engagement;
  • Understand the role monitoring and evaluation plays in project delivery;
  • Reflect on their own practice and develop a personal and/or institutional action plan to be implemented at their own institution.

While we welcome bookings for individual sessions, we highly recommend booking on to both of the sessions to avoid disappointment.

Please note that session 1 of this course is scheduled for 26 January 2017.
