Access Academy Training: Planning and delivering an effective summer school
What to expect
Held over a day, this in-depth training inspires you to think about how to organise and host a summer school, residential or non-residential.
This training is designed to give delegates the chance to develop both their knowledge and skills that are needed to deliver effective widening access activities – creating a practical space for you to explore and network with colleagues on how to build your confidence to bring together a useful summer school, residential or non-residential.
What the training offers
- Analyse summer school programmes
- Examine health & safety and safeguarding issues
- Explore the content of the programme – depending on targeted age group
- Discuss social activities
- Review ways to recruit and training student ambassadors
- How to encourage parental engagement
Facilitated by Inder Hunjan, Independent Consultant & former Head of Access & Widening Participation at Leeds Beckett University.
