Matthew Moss High School (MMHS) is one of the most committed and enthusiastic schools that The University of Manchester works with. MMHS is located in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, one of the most deprived boroughs in England, within the top 20 according to several measures. Fundamental to the school’s ethos is the importance of preparing learners for life and equipping them with the career management skills, self-confidence and motivation to achieve. MMHS’ ultimate aim is to raise awareness, enthuse, and inspire learners about the opportunities of HE, regardless of their background. Many activities are ongoing and they are continually self-evaluating. They strive to find new opportunities and create partnerships with local primary, secondary, and higher education institutions, as well as local employers, industrial partners and the wider community.
