OCR – 14-19 curriculum reform and HE progression

2012 and 2013 have seen significant changes in 14-19 education, with many more to come.  This session aims to:

• Clarify existing national policies
• Consider their individual and collective implications
• Preview the outcomes of proposals currently in the pipeline
• Speculate on the overlapping futures of academic and vocational education
• Raise evolving issues such as the increasing emphasis on English, maths, work experience and extended projects
• Refer to the variations across the UK

By the end of the session it is expected that delegates will be clearer about the range of qualifications students may follow and more able to decide their respective qualities as preparation for higher education.
