Establishing what are the most effective ways to widen access to HE and how to measure the impact of different activities is central to the professionalisation of the work.
The ‘What Works in Widening Access’ Clearing House will aim to construct some agreed criteria to measure the extent of the impact of different interventions and then assess these interventions against the criteria. The objectives of the Clearing House are to advance our understanding of what the criteria for effectiveness should be, and to create a continually updated repository of examples of widening access interventions delivered by NEON members.
The NEON ‘Establishing evidence and impact Working Group’ will agree the criteria by which interventions will be assessed on submission to the Clearing House.
There will be a call to NEON members for case studies of interventions in early 2013.
A range of interventions, from across sectors, will be brought together in a publication for NEON to be produced for our 2-day Summer Symposium called ‘What Works in Widening Access?’
