As the Labour government establishes itself in an environment where financial pressures on higher education providers are acute, this is a crucial year for access and success work. The National Education Opportunities Network (NEON) has launched its Capacity Building Programme 2024-25 today to support higher education professionals to take the maximum advantage of the opportunities a new government can bring to the thousands of learners from widening access backgrounds.
The 2024-25 programme is NEON’s most exciting and comprehensive yet, with over 20 activities and events designed to support organisations in making the biggest impact with limited resources.
Programme Highlights Include:
The rebranded Access and Success Academy, offering bespoke skills-related capacity building in key areas of access and success work;
Online and face-to-face NEON Summits, with policymakers and leaders in areas including partnerships and collaboration; reducing gaps in attainment, success and progression; and access to higher education in healthcare;
The annual face-to-face two-day NEON Summer Symposium, bringing together over 200 delegates from over 100 higher education providers.
Exciting New Offerings Include:
- New accredited NEON Professional courses for those working in widening access, admissions, student success and employability;
- The inaugural Winter Online Conference, an unmissable opportunity for higher education professionals to engage in key sector discussions and share their work from wherever they are.
The 2024-25 programme will provide knowledge, skills and collaborative opportunities that enable participants to increase the effectiveness of their organisational investment in access and success work.
Around 100 higher education professionals from across the sector also signed up to NEON’s very first online event programme launch, with participants coming from areas including widening access and outreach, careers, policy and comms, learning and teaching, student support and finance.
With this programme, NEON is set to continue supporting organisations in navigating the current higher education landscape and transforming the lives of thousands of learners through the power of higher education.
