NEON Access School or College Award – Commendation
Brampton Manor works with a selected cohort of students from Year 7 upwards to deliver a bespoke programme specifically designed to prepare them for university study. In addition, specialist support is offered to all Sixth Form students with making their applications to university. This has resulted in the latest league tables highlighting the school as the second highest progression rate to Russell Group universities of any school in the country, standing at 75%.
This was achieved through bespoke one‑to‑one subject and career guidance given to students from the very beginning of year 12. Such support is continued throughout the year, with students taking part in Reading Challenges and Independent Research Projects which offer them the opportunity to develop their subject knowledge. In their Stretch and Challenge programme, students are taught about the diversity of subjects available in higher education and encouraged to explore these subjects through their research projects and a series of interdisciplinary seminars.
