Elaine Boyes joined AGCAS in January 2016, moving to the role after a short stint in higher education. Prior to this, she has worked in membership organisations for over 17 years, running the Nuclear Institute, the professional body for the nuclear sector, and as Head of Publishing at the British Computer Society (BCS). She has previously been a Trustee of the Science Council and a Director of the Association of Professional and Learned Society Publishers (ALPSP).
