Ian Pretty

Chief Executive, Collab Group of Colleges

Ian Pretty is Chief Executive of the Collab Group of Colleges, a forward-thinking membership organisation which represents 33 leading UK colleges and college groups who collaborate, at a local and national level, with a wide range of stakeholders in the development of sustainable technical and professional education to enable a transformation of the productive capacity of the UK economy.

Before this, he spent eight years at Capgemini (a Global consulting, technology and outsourcing Group employing over 177,000 people) holding senior Global and UK roles as a Vice President and then Senior Vice President. He is also a former Senior Civil Servant with 15 years’ experience across Government having worked in both the Cabinet Office and HM Revenue & Customs.

The primary focus throughout career, in both public and commercial sectors, has been on strategy, transformation and organisational development with particular emphasis on how to deliver better outcomes for Government by improving business performance and extending collaboration between public and commercial sectors. His current focus is on developing effective solutions to support the delivery of apprenticeships, technical education and business performance notably in the area of cost-efficiency.
