NEON Outstanding Contribution to Widening Access Award – WINNER
Kay Keyte has been an advocate for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds since 2003 when she joined Castle Community College as a Learning Mentor. In the last 4 years her work has contributed to a 17% increase in university places for disadvantaged students in her school and last year 436 young people in Kay’s care participated in activities delivered by local universities. Kay stands out: her passion, her determination and her appreciation of the individual needs of each young person she cares for have made a difference to the lives of so many young people in her own school and beyond.
