This workshop will provide an overview of current best practice in communicating student finance messages, including tips to engage applicants in student funding and money management. Attendees will be encouraged to consider their own approach to money, providing an opportunity for engagement and debate in this interactive and thought-provoking session.
Recent changes in student funding have created a system more complicated than ever before. For university applicants it is often difficult for them to find the necessary information, and student numbers continue to decline, particularly impacting applications from the widening participation students the government are keen to reach. This session will provide practitioners with a different approach to considering student funding, crucial if we are to reverse the worrying application trend from those that are debt adverse and ensure those that can benefit from entry to university are not faced with citing finances as a reason for not applying.
